Location: Chepstow

Salary: £36,346.17 per annum

Hours: 42.5 hours per week, working 8.25 hours per day. The role follows a rotating shift pattern of Monday-Friday for two weeks, followed by Tuesday-Saturday on the third week.

Our client is looking for a dedicated Depot Supervisor to oversee and manage all aspects of their satellite delivery function at their depot in Chepstow. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient delivery scheduling, allocation of loads, and maintaining high performance in line with customer service targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and schedule deliveries, allocate loads, and monitor delivery performance to ensure efficient and timely service.
  • Oversee resource allocation to ensure deliveries are dispatched on time and cost-effectively, meeting budgetary targets.
  • Monitor driver performance throughout the day and take proactive action to meet delivery targets.
  • Address and resolve customer queries related to failed deliveries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain a high service level, aiming for above 99.5% attributable service level.
  • Ensure full compliance with hand-held terminal usage, start time, and 3-hour delivery adherence.
  • Manage first-stage disciplinary situations as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records on the Drive system and provide reporting on key performance indicators to senior management.
  • Promote company core values and ensure effective communication of expectations to all staff.
Requirements:Knowledge:
  • Understanding of industry legislation, including tachograph and driving hours regulations.
  • Extensive experience in transport operations and legal responsibilities.
  • Basic awareness of health and safety legislation.
Skills:
  • Strong PC literacy, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
  • Clamp/fork truck license (advantageous).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience:
  • Experience leading a small team (advantageous).
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Supervisory or management experience in a multi-drop environment is preferred.
  • An O License would be desirable.
