First Call Contract Services are happy to announce we are recruiting for a Goods In Warehouse Operative in the Wickford area. We deal with the supply of a comprehensive range of goods and associated products to the building, roofing, timber & fencing merchants across the UK.
Shifts and Pay Rates: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
Key Requirements:
- Loading & unloading of vehicles using forklifts, pump trucks and handballing.
- Checking receipt of deliveries against all relevant paperwork.
- Updating overstocks & GenetiQ (Warehouse Management System).
- Warehouse maintenance (ensuring clear stock locations and a tidy warehouse).
- Replenishing Stock (using a pump truck + forklift).
- Regularly picking and carrying heavy products (up to 25kg).
- Identifying & reporting damages and incorrect deliveries.
- Assisting other departments when required.
- Communicating with other departments.
- Identifying location errors.
- Stripping pallets.
- Other ad-hoc warehouse duties.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Non-in-house Counterbalance license.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Prioritization of workload.
- Access to mobile phone applications for time keeping.
- Must be able to routinely lift boxes up to 25kg.
- Must be comfortable using a ladder.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Use of WMS & office suite.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a trustworthy, reliable, team player.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills:
- Previous picker/packer experience.
- Non-in-house Reach license.
- Full drivers licence.
