We’re looking for an experienced Wheel Specialist to maintain, service, and build high-performance bicycle wheels. The ideal candidate will be confident in diagnosing wheel issues and proficient in truing, tensioning, and dishing wheels to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately true and tension bicycle wheels
- Build wheels from components (rims, hubs, spokes) as required
- Inspect and assess wheel condition, making repair recommendations
- Maintain tools and truing stands in top condition
- Work closely with other mechanics and customers to ensure optimal wheel performance
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements:
- Certification from a bicycle mechanic training program is essential (e.g., Barnett, UBI, Cytech)
- Proven experience truing and building bicycle wheels
- Strong understanding of spoke patterns, tension balancing, and rim/hub compatibility
- Attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
- Friendly, approachable attitude – customer service skills a plus
Bonus if you have:
- Experience with carbon wheel repair or high-end wheelsets
- Knowledge of wheel brands like DT Swiss, Mavic, Zipp, etc.
All shifts are 9am – 5pm and the below shift patterns are available:
- Thursday – Monday
- Friday – Tuesday
- Saturday – Wednesday
- Wednesday – Sunday
Pay: From £13 – £15 P/H Paid weekly
