Position: HGV 2 Driver
Location: Wheel Forge Way, Trafford Park, Stretford, Manchester M17 1EH, UK
Salary: Up to £17.00 per hour
Regular roster of 5 on 3 off shift, Start Time between 9am and 11am and finishing between 6pm and 8pm, Overtime rate of 1.5, Free onsite parking, complimentary meals and refreshments.
What will life as a HGV Driver in the Gategroup Team look like for you:
- £17.00 per hour
- Overtime @ 1.5 times the hourly rate
- 5 on 3 off pattern, Start Time between 9am and 11am and finishing between 6pm and 8pm

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Driving HGV 15 – 18 tonne company liveried vehicles in a secure & controlled environment
- Carrying out vehicle checks prior to use
- Loading and unloading catering uplifts to aircraft
- Liaison with flight crew and working in collaboration with other ground handling suppliers
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle
- Adhering to all Road Traffic Acts and additional Airport By-laws
- Additional duties such as Bar and stores packing or search and sealing will be a daily requirement along with any associated paperwork.
- Plus any additional warehouse duties
Requirements of the HGV Driver:
- Valid clean HGV CAT C Driving Licence (up to 3 points will be considered)
- Digital Tachograph knowledge and possession of a digital tachograph card
- Driver CPC qualification essential
- Previous HGV experience desirable, Airport Airside Driving would be an advantage
- Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential.
- You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn.
- In addition to job-related training, you will develop your skills in team work, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail.
- All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history.
- For any time spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC for that country.
