Location: Enfield

Salary: Starting from £17.99 per hour + £0.50 per hour FLT allowance

Shift Pattern: Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday, 11:00pm – 7:30am (8-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid break). Flexibility to work both shift patterns on a rotational basis is required.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and hands-on Night Shift Team Leader to oversee their night operations at their Enfield site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse or transport professional with strong leadership skills to join a fast-paced business where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of overnight operations. You’ll be responsible for leading the night shift team, coordinating vehicle loading and dispatch, managing stock movements, and ensuring deliveries leave on time while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. There are clear opportunities for progression, with the role sitting within a graded salary structure offering two additional pay bands based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the night shift operation, ensuring all overnight activities run efficiently.
  • Open the site and prepare operations for the night shift.
  • Coordinate vehicle movements, loading schedules, and dispatch priorities.
  • Oversee the receipt and unloading of internal stock transfers.
  • Ensure stock is accurately received, stored, and prepared for onward distribution.
  • Carry out and record temperature checks on incoming refrigerated stock.
  • Coordinate the loading of delivery vehicles to meet planned departure times.
  • Ensure all delivery documentation, manifests, and driver paperwork are prepared accurately.
  • Complete daily delivery bookings for customers.
  • Manage vehicle cleanliness schedules across the fleet.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard environment.
  • Plan holidays and staffing levels to ensure adequate shift cover.
  • Arrange agency driver cover where required due to absence.
  • Report vehicle defects and operational issues to the daytime transport team.
  • Provide a comprehensive handover to the daytime operation at the end of each shift.

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading by example and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience within a food manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • IT literate and confident using warehouse or stock management systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift (FLT) Licence.
  • Powered Pallet Truck (PPT) experience or licence.
  • Comfortable working within chilled and outdoor environments.

Desirable

  • Health & Safety qualification.
  • Food Safety or Food Hygiene certification.
  • Experience using warehouse scanning systems.
  • PPS licence (training can be provided if required).
