Location: St Albans

Salary: £30,000 per annum depending on experience and performance

Working Hours: 07:00am – 17:00pm 5 to 6 days a week (hours and days may be flexible for the right person)

We are currently recruiting for a Label Room Controller to join a well-established fresh produce business supplying major UK supermarkets. This is a key role within the packhouse operation offering stability and long-term opportunity within a growing organisation. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently in a structured environment and has a strong eye for detail.

The Role

As a Label Room Controller you will be responsible for overseeing all labelling activity within the packhouse. You will ensure that all products are labelled accurately and meet quality and compliance standards while maintaining organised records and stock levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all product labelling meets quality control standards
  • Manage labelling of fresh produce ensuring accuracy and clarity
  • Monitor label stock levels and arrange replenishment when required
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel to maintain records and track product information
  • Carry out regular quality checks on labels
  • Maintain accurate documentation for traceability
  • Work closely with operations and management to resolve any issues
  • Follow all health and safety procedures on site
  • Keep the label room clean, organised and efficient
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with the wider team

Requirements

  • IT literate with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good written and verbal English
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and reliable approach to work
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a packhouse, manufacturing or agricultural environment
  • Strong organisational skills
