About the Role:
Our client is looking for a proactive, commercially aware Stock & Parts Handler Representative / Supervisor to manage stock to the highest standards while driving sales growth. This is a hands‑on role that combines operational responsibility with customer service, sales, and leadership. You will manage inventory, develop new business, maintain strong client relationships, and support the wider objectives of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock & Inventory Management: Manage owned and imprest stock in line with company processes and high inventory standards. Maintain accurate stock records, rotation, and housekeeping. Follow structured procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency, and consistency.
- Sales & Business Development: Promote products and services, particularly in truck and trailer parts or related sectors. Identify, develop, and secure new customer accounts. Maintain and grow existing customer relationships, exceeding expectations. Work towards agreed sales targets and KPIs.
- Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service both face‑to‑face and via telephone. Act as a professional point of contact for customers, representing the company’s values. Resolve queries effectively and make sound business decisions.
- Operational & Reporting: Work independently while keeping management updated on stock, sales, and customer activity. Support business planning through structured reporting and feedback.
- Leadership & Supervision: Demonstrate supervisory skills and support colleagues, promoting best practice. Actively participate in operational delivery, supporting drivers, planning routes, and ensuring service levels. Uphold and enhance the company’s professional reputation.
- Health, Safety & Fire Awareness: Maintain a safe and compliant working environment and lead by example. Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, company policies, and safe working practices. Carry out regular workplace checks, risk assessments, and follow up on incidents. Act as Fire Marshal, lead drills, and maintain fire safety equipment and procedures.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in stock handling and sales, ideally within truck and trailer parts or a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of stock processes, inventory control, and operational standards.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with management.
- Commercially aware with confidence in decision‑making.
- Experience working to targets and KPIs.
- Hands‑on approach to both sales and operations.
- Knowledge of health and fire safety procedures.
