Average Hours: 30 hours per week + overtime
Shift Pattern: 6 days on / 3 days off
Working Hours: Shifts between 02:00 - 21:00

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global aviation brand and become an important part of the team responsible for delivering a safe, efficient and positive experience for airline passengers.
As a Baggage Handler, you’ll play a key role in ensuring passengers’ baggage is processed correctly and reaches the aircraft safely and on time.
You’ll be working as part of a skilled team in a fast-paced airport environment, with opportunities to develop your skills and build a career within aviation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering consistently high standards of customer service
- Processing baggage for onward travel
- Using both manual and automated baggage handling systems
- Operating specialist equipment within the Baggage Handling Unit
- Delivering baggage to aircraft side ready for loading
- Working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ensuring compliance with airline and airport policies and procedures
- Maintaining a safe working environment at all times
- Working effectively as part of a wider airport operations team
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who are reliable, hardworking and able to thrive in a busy operational environment.
You’ll need:
- Excellent communication skills
- A calm, friendly and professional approach
- Good physical fitness – this is a physically demanding role
- The ability to react quickly and accurately to changing situations
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A willingness to attend and pass a medical assessment
- A full UK driving licence
- The ability to complete the required aviation security process
Aviation Security Requirements
Due to the nature of working airside at Manchester Airport, you’ll need to successfully complete the required security checks.
You must be able to provide:
- 5 years' address history
- 5 years' reference history, covering employment, education, benefit claims and/or character references
- The necessary documentation to obtain a full airside ID
Please note that the application and security process can take 2-4 weeks from the date of interview.
