My client is a well-established business specialising in plastic injection moulding. They are looking for an experienced and reliable Tool Hanger / Setter to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.

You will also monitor the quality of components being produced and work closely with the toolmaking team and chargehands to ensure machinery and tooling are operating effectively.

The role is suited to someone who is hands-on, reliable and confident working both independently and as part of a team. You will need to be comfortable working shifts and following all relevant health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with tool trials and support the introduction of tooling into production

  • Monitor the quality of manufactured components and ensure they meet the required standards

  • Identify any quality issues and report concerns to the relevant team members

  • Work alongside toolmakers to assist with tooling repairs and maintenance

  • Work closely with charge hands to coordinate and carry out tool changes

  • Ensure machinery and tooling are operating correctly

  • Follow production schedules and maintain consistent output

  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment

  • Follow all company procedures and health and safety guidelines

  • Work effectively as part of the production team while being confident working independently when required

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties required by management

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience operating plastic injection moulding machines is essential

  • Experience carrying out tool changes or tool setting would be advantageous but is not essential

  • Experience assisting with tool trials or working alongside toolmakers would be beneficial

  • Good understanding of quality control within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting components and identifying defects

  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

  • A practical and hands-on approach to work

  • Able to follow instructions and established procedures

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to learn new skills and undertake further training

  • Comfortable working shifts and with the opportunity to work overtime when required

What We Are Looking For

My client is looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and experienced in operating injection moulding machinery. The ideal candidate will have a good eye for detail, take pride in producing high-quality components and be willing to develop their knowledge of tool changing and setting.

Previous tool-changing experience would be a bonus but the company is happy to provide further training to the right candidate. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to work well with colleagues are essential.

This is a great opportunity to join a specialist manufacturing business in a full-time temp-to-perm position, with the potential to secure permanent employment and develop your skills within the injection moulding industry.
