Working Hours: 39 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: £20.92 per hour + weekend premium rate
- Salary: Approx. £42,425 per annum

About the Role
Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses? We're looking for skilled and forward-thinking people to join our busy Engineering team at Weston-Super-Mare. We offer technical up-skilling and career progression. We'll also provide your PPE and basic tools you'll need to succeed in your role, as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits (see below).
We are looking for NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified engineers – preferably in heavy vehicle or PSV mechanical maintenance; however we also welcome applications from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, servicing, and replacing parts as needed
- Identifying issues accurately and recommending the correct method of repair and parts required
- Performing routine inspections and servicing using handheld data capture devices (where applicable)
- Attending roadside breakdowns and supporting vehicle recoveries
About You
- Do you have a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics?
- Do you have a valid UK driver's licence?
- A PCV licence is desirable, ability to obtain PCV licence is essential (we will help you obtain this)
- Experience of working with buses & coaches would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered (HGV)
