About The Role
At First Bus, every journey starts with our people. Behind the scenes, our engineering teams make sure our fleet is safe, reliable, and ready to keep communities moving. Now we're looking for a Semi-Skilled Engineer to join our team based at our Norwich - Roundtree Way Depot, who's ready to take their engineering career forward.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Carrying out routine vehicle servicing in line with our standard operating procedures
- Attending on-road breakdowns and recoveries
- Performing minor vehicle repairs to keep our fleet moving
- Taking part in training and development to continuously grow your skills
- Working with full tools, PPE and overalls provided
Location: Norwich, Roundtree Way, NR7 8SQ
Working Hours: 39 hours per week, 5pm to 1:30am, 5 over 7 days with every other weekend off
Pay: £16.68 per hour — unsociable hours and weekend premium rates available — potential to earn around an extra £3000 (or more) per year
About You:
- A flexible and proactive approach to work
- A full UK driving licence (PCV licence preferred, but we can support you in obtaining this)
- Good understanding of basic vehicle repair techniques
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in mechanics is desirable, but not essential
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage, but not required
