Position: PSV/HGV Dayshift Mechanic
Location: Scotstoun Depot – 1073 South Street G14 0AQ
Contracted Hours: 37 per week (permanent + overtime available)
Shifts: 5 days over 7, 6 am or 7 am start
Pay Rate: £20.50 per hour + enhanced weekend rate
Bonuses: £2000 JOINING BONUS (terms apply)
Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses across Glasgow? We are looking for NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified engineers – preferably with HGV or PSV experience, however we also welcome applications from ex‑Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change. We offer technical up‑skilling and career progression, we'll also provide your PPE and basic tools you'll need to succeed in your role, as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
- Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
- Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
- Attend on‑road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
- Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair
About You
- Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred?
- Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi‑skill?
- Are you a UK driving licence holder? A PCV licence is desirable however we can help you achieve this.
