We're looking for a Garage Support and Stores Assistant to join our team at Wandsworth Garage. This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on operational work and office-based administration. You'll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the garage by ensuring engineering stock is effectively managed while also providing vital administrative support to our Operations and Engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Managing garage stock levels and maintaining accurate inventory records within budgetary guidelines
- Carrying out routine stock checks and preparing expenditure reports
- Ensuring timely replenishment of stock to support the engineering function and minimise vehicle downtime
- Supporting managers with a range of administrative tasks including filing, document preparation, room bookings and general office support
- Handling enquiries from employees, visitors and members of the public in person, by telephone and via email
- Maintaining garage records and databases including mileage, lost mileage and accident reporting
- Managing lost property documentation and dispatch processes
- Supporting compliance with health and safety procedures and reporting accidents or defective equipment where required
- Contributing the efficient day-to-day operation of the garage through effective organisation, communication and administrative support
Skills Required:
- Previous experience in an administrative, stores, warehouse or operational support role
- Strong Microsoft office skills including word, excel and outlook
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- An understanding of stock contract and inventory management
- The ability to lift and carry vehicle components where required
- A valid Driver's or PCV licence
