About the Role
As a Bus Driver, you will be an essential part of our community, providing reliable transportation services that our customers count on daily. Your responsibilities will include safely transporting passengers to work, school, and important appointments, as well as assisting those running errands or heading to special events. By ensuring a smooth and secure journey, you will play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of local residents and helping them stay connected to their community.
These are permanent, full-time positions, working 39 hours per week across a variety of shift patterns, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
For PCV License Holders
Qualified drivers are eligible for a £3,000 signing bonus, payable in two instalments over 12 months (the first payment after 6 months of service, and the second payment after 12 months). To qualify for this bonus, you must not have been employed by First Bus in the past 12 months.
Information for Trainees
To apply as a Trainee Bus Driver, you must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 6 months of driving experience. No prior experience driving larger vehicles is necessary, as we offer extensive training on our modern buses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Operation: Drive buses along designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Safety Monitoring: Maintain passenger safety and comfort throughout the journey.
- Communication: Provide timely updates about any incidents, delays, or mechanical issues, and document all relevant occurrences.
