About The Role - PSV/HGV Engineer
We are looking for a fully qualified Skilled Engineer with previous experience and knowledge of PCV/HGV vehicles. For helping keep our fleet on the road, you'll earn a good salary and great benefits. We'll also provide your overalls and all the tools and equipment needed. This could be a great opportunity for you to widen your skill base and work on our state of the art electric vehicles.
As a Skilled Engineer at our Bath depot, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, servicing, and replacing parts as needed
- Identifying issues accurately and recommending the correct method of repair and parts required
- Performing routine inspections and servicing using handheld data capture devices (where applicable)
- Attending roadside breakdowns and supporting vehicle recoveries
- Road-testing vehicles to confirm issues or check work after repairs
Location: Weston Island, Lower Bristol Road, BA2 9ES
Working Hours: 39 hours contracted per week, 5 days over 7 - including weekends. Varying shifts available - nightshift, early/late rotation - happy to discuss at interview what works for you.
Hourly Rate: Between £19.70-£23.36 per hour, depending on shift (can be discussed at interview) + £3000 NEW RECRUIT JOINING BONUS!!! - paid in two 6 monthly instalments.
About you:
- Do you have a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification as a mechanic and experience working on HGV, bus or coach?
- A PCV licence is desirable, ability to obtain PCV licence is essential (we will help you obtain this)
- Do you have a valid UK driver's licence?
- Experience of working with buses & coaches would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered (HGV)
- Do you have vehicle/autoelectrical experience/knowledge?
