We are looking for an Auto Electrician to join our team in Weston-super-Mare. If you want to be part of our energetic team of engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of vehicles, this position could be perfect for you!

We would love to hear from candidates who have at least a Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent (such as City & Guilds levels 1 & 2) with proven on-the-job experience. Ex-military personnel with an engineering apprenticeship or experienced engineers seeking a transition are also encouraged to apply.

About the role

  1. Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct repair methods and parts to be used.
  2. Carry out vehicle servicing.
  3. Overhaul and repair vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring systems, and E.C.U.
  4. Use diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, temperature gauges, micrometers, vernier gauges, and E.C.U. diagnostic computers.

We will provide your overalls (PPE).

Compensation and Schedule

Hourly Rate: £19.85

Working Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday, 18:00 – 02:00

About you

  1. Possess a minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification.
  2. Be familiar with the safe operation of workshop equipment and the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems.
  3. Willing to obtain a forklift truck and PCV license with support from First Bus.
  4. Hold a valid UK driver’s license.
