First Blue Family Assessment are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Assessment Worker to join our team at a Residential Family Centre based in Stafford. Our Family Assessment Workers will provide a range of support services to families residing in the centre, with the aim of promoting their well-being, enhancing family dynamics, and facilitating their successful transition to independent living.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with families in a compassionate and non-judgemental manner, building rapport and trust to establish positive working relationships.
- Provide practical and emotional support to families, offering guidance on parenting skills, child development, budgeting, and navigating community resources.
- Assess and address potential safeguarding concerns, reporting any instances of abuse or neglect and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
- Implement activities and interventions in accordance with the National Minimum Standards for Family Residential Centres to promote the well-being and development of families, including but not limited to:
- Facilitating parent-child interaction sessions, promoting positive parenting techniques, and enhancing family communication.
- Supporting families in accessing education, employment, and training opportunities to enhance their overall self-sufficiency.
- Assisting families in developing essential life skills, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Collaborating with external agencies and community partners to coordinate additional support services such as counselling, substance abuse treatment, and mental health services as needed.

- Experience working with children and families is desirable.

- Have the desire to improve family relationships and assist in building the foundations of a positive home environment.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Is empathetic and able to support families through an assessment process.
