As part of their continued growth and operational development, we are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the team and play a key role in supporting both our people and the wider business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment where the majority of HR activity is managed in-house, with support from an external HR partner for complex escalations and specialist advice when required.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive HR service across the business.
You will provide practical, commercially focused HR support to managers and employees while helping to drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Support employee relations matters including absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Manage recruitment activities including advertising, interviewing coordination, onboarding and induction.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
- Review and develop HR policies, procedures and best practices.
- Support learning and development initiatives across the business.
- Produce HR reports, metrics and management information.
- Assist with payroll-related administration and employee benefits coordination.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes and systems.
- Liaise with the external HR consultancy for complex casework, legal updates and escalation support where appropriate.
About You
We are looking for a confident and organised HR professional who is comfortable operating in a busy SME manufacturing environment.
Essential
- Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor or similar HR role.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting employee relations cases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good IT skills, including HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (preferred).
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
