Key Responsibilities of a Scrum Master
- Facilitate all Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement and Retrospectives
- Represent the team within the SAFe framework, contributing to PI Planning and ART syncs
- Support delivery of high-quality software aligned to sprint goals and Definition of Done
- Identify and remove impediments impacting delivery, quality or team performance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking within Azure DevOps
- Monitor and report on team performance using metrics such as velocity, cycle time and progress
- Coach and mentor teams and stakeholders on Agile and Lean principles
- Drive continuous improvement across processes and team performance
Key Skills
- CSM or A-CSM certification is essential
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master within a software development environment
- Strong working knowledge of SAFe, including PI Planning and ART coordination
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including DevOps and CI/CD
- Advanced experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management and reporting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with a servant leadership approach
- Ability to think holistically and understand wider system dependencies
