Our client is seeking a Senior Purchaser to support business requirements for direct and indirect materials. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this is a hands-on role responsible for sourcing, supplier management, cost control and supporting commercial and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities of a Purchaser:
- Source and purchase direct and indirect materials.
- Develop purchasing strategies aligned with business needs.
- Achieve best-value solutions using a total cost approach.
- Support global and low-cost sourcing initiatives.
- Negotiate supplier, service, and utility contracts.
- Manage internal and supplier-held inventory levels.
- Support costing for revenue, capital, and expenditure requests.
- Provide purchasing input to support timely customer quotations.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities.
- Represent Purchasing in product and review meetings.
- Support the Purchasing Manager with projects and initiatives.
- Manage supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Develop and maintain dual-source strategies.
- Ensure regulatory and reporting submissions are completed on time.
