Our client requires a Mechanical Fitter who has experience in a mechanical environment for our specialist and growing engineering client to assist with the production of products for the automotive, military, and marine sectors.

This is an amazing opportunity to join a company with a global reputation who provide services to the aircraft industry and are known for supplying solutions the military, marines, and aviation sector. Your duties will be to produce company products to the required standard and quality as defined by drawings, written instructions, and direction from supervision.

Summary of the role for the Mechanical Fitter:

  • Complete engineering duties for sub-assembly production.
  • Fitting and final assembly
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components and sub-assemblies.
  • Assist with the production of fabricated assemblies of varying size and complexity.
  • Using general skills including marking out, cutting, folding, bending, weld joint preparation and MIG welding.
  • Abide by the companies Health and Safety polices to ensure a safe environment.
  • The right candidate will hold responsibility for his / her own safety and for those around them.

Skillset Required for the Mechanical Fitter:

  • Experience with working from: manufacturing drawings, general arrangement drawings and sub-assembly drawings.
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools to assemble a wide variety of large and small fabricated components.
  • Check the complete assembly for alignment, dimensions, and quality.
  • Circuitry knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrics is ideal, but will be trained if unsure/more of a junior candidate.
  • Some knowledge of basic electrical assembly and ability to read electrical circuit drawings preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of vehicle fabricating/fitting would be ideal, but experience within a mechanical environment is a must.
