Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Gardener/Groundsperson to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a love of plants and gardens, a desire to learn, and a practical, hands-on approach to horticulture and estate maintenance. The role offers exposure to a wide range of gardening tasks across diverse areas of the estate, with opportunities to develop skills under the guidance of experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain herbaceous and mixed borders, fruit trees, kitchen garden areas, trees, and shrubs.
- Cut and maintain grass across the estate, including mowing, strimming, and leaf blowing.
- Carry out soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, bed preparation, and planting.
- Use and maintain hand tools and basic light machinery safely and efficiently.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Assist other departments when needed and contribute to the smooth running of the estate.
- Genuine enthusiasm for plants, gardens, and horticulture.
- Willingness to follow instructions, learn, and develop new skills.
- Hardworking, adaptable, and physically fit.
- Positive “can-do” attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Full driving licence essential.
