Key Responsibilities of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist:

  • Setting and operating Star CNC sliding head machines to produce precision engineered components to tight tolerances.
  • Working with materials including stainless steel, aluminium, brass and plastics.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture of components.
  • Editing programmes and making offset adjustments using Fanuc controls on Star sliding head machinery.
  • Carrying out first off inspection and in process quality checks using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
  • Ensuring Star sliding head machines are maintained correctly, tooling is replaced when required and downtime is minimised.
  • Working to production schedules while maintaining high quality and accuracy standards.
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures within the manufacturing environment.
