Key Responsibilities of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist:
- Setting and operating Star CNC sliding head machines to produce precision engineered components to tight tolerances.
- Working with materials including stainless steel, aluminium, brass and plastics.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture of components.
- Editing programmes and making offset adjustments using Fanuc controls on Star sliding head machinery.
- Carrying out first off inspection and in process quality checks using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Ensuring Star sliding head machines are maintained correctly, tooling is replaced when required and downtime is minimised.
- Working to production schedules while maintaining high quality and accuracy standards.
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures within the manufacturing environment.
