Location: Bristol Hours The successful candidate will be based across one of two manufacturing sites, with the shift pattern determined by business requirements.
- Site 1
- Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm, Friday 7:30am - 12:30pm.
- Late Shift: Monday to Thursday 2:00pm - 12:00am (30% shift premium). Site 2
- Double Days (Rotating): Earlies - Monday to Thursday 6:00am - 2:00pm, Friday 6:00am - 11:00am.
Lates - Monday to Thursday 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday 11:00am - 4:00pm (25% shift premium).
Although you'll primarily be based at one site, there may occasionally be the opportunity to support another manufacturing site within the group, with reasonable notice provided.
Salary: £26,102 - £48,272 per annum DOE (including applicable shift premiums), Candidates with basic operating experience are encouraged to apply, with higher rates available for individuals who can programme, set and operate CNC Turning machines independently.
Key Responsibilities of a CNC Turner Setter Operator
- Set and operate CNC Turning machines using Fanuc controls to manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Set tooling, manufacture soft jaws, establish machine datums and carry out first-off and in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
- Produce components to tight tolerances, monitor machining performance, troubleshoot tooling or programme issues and maintain quality and production targets.
- Complete production documentation accurately while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
- Work safely at all times, ensuring compliance with company procedures and manufacturing best practices. Key Skills & Experience of a CNC Turner Setter Operator
- Previous CNC Turning experience with Fanuc-controlled machines.
- Ability to set and operate CNC Turning machines. Programming experience is highly desirable but not essential.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings while producing components to tight tolerances.
- Confident using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling with excellent attention to detail and a positive attitude towards learning and development. Benefits
