Key Responsibilities of a CMM Inspector:

  • Operate and programme CMM equipment to inspect precision-engineered components
  • Create and maintain measurement routines for in-process and final inspection
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T requirements
  • Produce dimensional inspection reports and measurement records
  • Carry out calibration and routine maintenance of inspection equipment
  • Investigate and report non-conformances through NCR processes
  • Support NPI projects and the introduction of new products
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve quality issues
  • Ensure measurement systems remain compliant and repeatable
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within inspection areas

Key Skills of a CMM Inspector:

  • Previous experience operating and programming CMM equipment
  • Experience with Mitutoyo and/or Aberlink systems desirable
  • Strong understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using micrometers, verniers, thread gauges and other inspection equipment
  • Knowledge of MSA and Gauge R&R principles desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good IT skills and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
