Key Responsibilities of a Production Engineer
- Plan, coordinate and improve all CNC milling operations in line with production goals
- Develop and optimise CNC milling programmes for quality and efficiency
- Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters to maximise productivity
- Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects
- Provide training and mentoring to CNC machinists and operators
- Troubleshoot milling-related issues and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ISO/IATF standards
Key Skills of a Production Engineer
- Experience in production engineering, specifically within HAAS (or similar) CNC milling environments
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and CAD/CAM (e.g., EdgeCAM, Fusion 360)
- Ability to analyse tooling and cycle time data to improve throughput
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
- Recognised qualification, apprenticeship, or timeserved experience
