Key Responsibilities of a Stock Controller- Manage and maintain accurate stock inventory across on-site and off-site warehouse locations.
- Control the movement of stock, including goods in, internal transfers and customer order dispatch.
- Carry out daily perpetual inventory (PI) counts to maintain stock accuracy.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly inventory and stock movement reports.
- Maintain warehouse stock transfers using Sage.
- Manage the Trackabout system to control returnable assets, stillages and pallet boxes.
- Produce stock and traceability labels.
- Liaise with Warehouse, Purchasing, Demand Planning and Customer Services teams.
- Run zero-pick and quarantine stock investigations and meetings.
- Assist with administrative duties and provide cover for Warehouse and Transport colleagues when required.
- Deliver training where appropriate.
- Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety procedures.
- Previous experience within a Stock Controller or Inventory Control role.
- Experience using stock management systems such as Sage or Sicon would be advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and stock control processes.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
