A well-established and growing engineering business within the commercial fuel and infrastructure sector is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their expanding service team. This is a field-based role covering customer sites across the UK, involving regular travel and overnight stays Monday to Friday. The successful engineer will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, installing, and commissioning specialist equipment, while delivering a high standard of customer service on-site. This role would suit a hands-on engineer with strong fault-finding ability, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to represent the business professionally with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostic testing, fault-finding, and repairs on customer equipment
- Install and commission new equipment at customer sites
- Service and maintain pumps, dispensers, gauges, and associated systems
- Attend service calls promptly and within agreed response times
- Complete accurate and timely service and inspection reports
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle to a high standard
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and relay leads internally
- Adhere to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards at all times
Key Skills
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- Ability to voltage test AC/DC single- and three-phase supplies
- Confident use of hand tools
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to work and travel
- Good communication with both field-based and office-based teams
- Basic IT, PC hardware, and networking knowledge
- Willingness to travel nationwide with regular overnight stays (Monday to Friday)
- Full UK driving licence
