Key Responsibilities of a CNC Miller Setter Operator:
- Set up and operate milling machines and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Produce components in accordance with technical drawings, route cards, and work instructions.
- Carry out tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine parameter settings as required.
- Conduct quality checks using appropriate measuring and gauging equipment and ensure all documentation is accurately completed.
- Maintain and improve 5S standards on the shop floor.
- Participate in routine maintenance and Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
- Identify and highlight opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all departmental and company quality standards.
- Work safely and report any health and safety risks.
- Train and support other operators as required.
- Liaise with other departments to support production schedules.
- Perform any additional ad-hoc duties as necessary.
Key Skills of a CNC Miller Setter Operator:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
- CNC or manual milling machine experience.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Teamworking and mentoring capability.
- Knowledge of TPM and 5S principles.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
