Product Finisher Lead 7021

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Product Finisher Lead to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Coleford.
This is a hands on position responsible for industrial coating, blasting and finishing of engineered components, while also taking responsibility for coaching, training and developing the wider Product Finishing team.
Key Responsibilities of a Product Finisher Lead:
- Power wash components to remove contamination prior to finishing
- Mask and protect surfaces that do not require preparation or coating
- Shotblast surfaces to achieve the required profile
- Apply stripe coatings to areas where spray access is restricted
- Apply specified coating systems using spray and brush application methods
- Check coating quality and thickness throughout each stage of the finishing process
- Ensure components and materials are handled and moved safely
- Maintain tools, equipment and PPE
- Monitor and control paint stock
- Work to production schedules communicated by Planning and Production
- Coach, train and develop members of the Product Finishing team
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality to develop and implement appropriate processes and procedures
- Identify training and development requirements within the team
- Support performance and succession planning
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects
- Support Health & Safety requirements across the department
- Maintain accurate process records and documentation
- Promote a safe, clean and organised working environment
Key Skills of a Product Finisher Lead:
- Previous hands-on experience with industrial blasting
- Previous spray-painting experience
- Previous hand-painting experience
- Strong knowledge of industrial coating and finishing processes
- Ability to coach, train and develop other team members
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Able to prioritise workload within a busy manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills
- Self-driven and results focused with a positive, can-do attitude
- Logical and structured approach to work
- Strong focus on quality, safety and achieving production requirements
Desirable Experience:
- ICAT certification
- Forklift licence
- Train the Painter certification
- Coating inspection experience
This is primarily a shop-floor based role, although occasional attendance at office based meetings may be required. Appropriate PPE, including an air-fed respirator, will be required within the working environment.
