Hours: 37.5 – 38 hours per week (Shift work required)

Salary: Dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities of an Assembly Fitter:

  • Assemble pumps with electric motors or diesel engines
  • Build bare shaft pumps to engineering drawings
  • Assemble diesel and electric skid sets to drawings and bill of materials
  • Complete production data books and check sheets accurately
  • Raise any assembly or quality issues with the Supervisor or QA Engineer
  • Ensure pumps and assemblies are correctly built and ready for testing
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures (including risk assessments and COSHH)
  • Maintain care of tools and materials to avoid damage or loss
  • Accurately complete timesheets

Key Skills of an Assembly Fitter:

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, plus 3 years’ experience OR minimum 5 years’ fitting experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong communication skills across production, QA, design and planning teams
  • Logical and structured approach to work
  • Self‑motivated with a positive, team‑focused attitude

Additional Information:

  • Shop floor based role
  • PPE must be worn at all times
  • Potential shift work and occasional travel (including overseas)
