Complex Care Assistant – Support for a 17-Year-Old with Severe Autism Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young individuals? First Active 365 Homecare is looking for a dedicated, energetic, and confident caregiver to support a client with severe autism, personality disorder, and anxiety in maintaining her well-being and independence. About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced caregiver to provide specialist complex care and emotional support. Your role will involve working with a young client who requires a fun, engaging, and confident support worker to help manage her daily routine. Your duties may include: ✔️ Providing emotional and behavioral support to manage anxiety and challenging behaviors ✔️ Using Makaton to communicate effectively ✔️ Encouraging engagement in activities and promoting social interaction ✔️ Assisting with mobility (client walks on her knees and uses an electric wheelchair) ✔️ Helping with structured routines to provide stability and reassurance ✔️ Managing challenging behaviors, including aggression, in a calm and professional manner ✔️ Creating a fun, positive environment to help reduce anxiety 🛑 No personal care is required. Our Client: This role is ideal for someone who is: ✅ Confident, energetic, and fun – able to build a strong bond with the client ✅ Firm yet compassionate – to handle challenging behaviors appropriately ✅ Emotionally resilient and patient – as the client can display aggressive tendencies ✅ Young and engaging – someone who can relate to and connect with a teenager The client is also reluctant to be hoisted, so experience with encouraging and supporting mobility in a non-forceful manner is essential. Qualifications We’re Looking For: 🔹 Experience working with autism, personality disorders, or complex behavioral needs 🔹 Knowledge of Makaton or other communication methods (preferred) 🔹 Confidence in handling challenging behaviors in a safe and professional way 🔹 A positive, proactive approach to engaging young clients in activities 🔹 Ability to work independently while following a structured care plan Why Join Us? 💷 Competitive pay: £13.50-£18.00 per hour 📅 Flexible shifts: Full-time, part-time, and contract options available 📚 Ongoing training and development opportunities Schedule: ⏰ 6 to 12-hour shifts available 📆 Weekday and weekend availability ideally Please Note: ✔️ This role requires experience in working with complex behaviors and autism. ✔️ We do not offer sponsorship. ✔️ Details about the client’s specific needs will be shared during the interview process.
