First Active 365 are supporting various services across Norfolk, assisting with their temporary staffing needs. There are nursing homes, residential care homes, and supported living services with residents from 18 years and older.
Due to increasing and ongoing demand, we are looking to onboard more local people for regular work. The majority of work available is during daytime hours, so flexibility during the hours of 7am and 9pm is important due to the variety of shift patterns; however, night shifts are available on occasion. Ideally, you would live within Norfolk with access to your own transport, as public transport links may not accommodate commuting at these hours.
Mostly, we are looking for people with experience in supporting the elderly, people with dementia, and/or people with learning disabilities. A resilient personality, genuine passion for what you do, and reliability are important for this role.
We are an agency, so we cannot offer contracted or set amounts of hours, but arrangements for consistent shifts may be possible should a client request these from the right candidate.
Our daily tasks could include:
- Helping people to undertake personal tasks.
- Serving food and helping them to eat if needed.
- Changing sheets and making beds.
- Using equipment to lift and move the people you support.
- Notifying healthcare professionals of temperatures, pulse rates, or respiration rates that seem abnormal or worrying.
- Promoting positive outlooks and encouraging people to enjoy their lives as much as possible.
- Bonding with the people you support, learning about their needs and using your skills to assist our clients with delivering exceptional care and support.
Qualifications required:
- You must have the right to work within the UK.
- You must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbally) and have the ability to understand and be understood.
- You must have a minimum of 6 months' experience within a care home setting in the UK.
