First Achieve's Engineering Department is actively recruiting an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our prestigious client in Livingston on a permanent basis.

About the Role

You will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance to a high standard. You will respond promptly to plant breakdowns and use your fault-finding and problem-solving skills to resolve equipment failures. Your work will contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Perform electrical installations and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Interpret technical documentation, including work instructions, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using computer-based systems.

Qualifications

Time-served Electrician with City & Guilds 2360, HNC, or equivalent qualification.

Required Skills

  • Proven track record in fault finding and reading technical/electrical drawings.
  • Experience in using test equipment and performing hands-on electrical repairs.
  • Competent with electrical installations and scheduled maintenance work.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Computer literate and able to manage basic digital records and systems.

Pay range and compensation package

Competitive salary Circa £40,000. Flexible work pattern: Choose between weekday shift rotation or weekend-only work – whichever suits your lifestyle. No compulsory weekend working (unless preferred).
