What you’ll be doing
You won’t just be another name on a project team; you will be leading investigations end-to-end. You will:
- Manage large, complex ground investigation projects
- Supervise site works (drilling rigs, teams, contractors)
- Liaise directly with clients and take ownership of delivery
- Produce high-quality interpretative reports (this is key)
- Carry out logging (soil & rock), trial pitting and in-situ testing
- Oversee groundwater and gas monitoring
- Take responsibility for H&S on site
What do you need?
Let’s be honest this isn’t an entry-level role. You’ll likely:
- Have a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology or similar
- Have solid experience managing GI projects
- Be confident writing detailed, client-ready reports
- Be chartered or actively working towards it
- Hold a full driving licence
Most importantly you’ll be someone who can take responsibility and run with it.
