First Achieve Engineering Department is working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected engineering business with a long-standing reputation for delivering precision-engineered solutions to critical industries worldwide.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled engineer to play a key role in driving manufacturing efficiency, continuous improvement, and machining excellence within a fast-paced production environment.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure components are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with operational teams, machine shop personnel, and suppliers, you will support CNC machining operations through process development, CNC programming, tooling improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will involve both hands-on technical support and strategic process improvement activities across CNC and manual machining operations.
- Create and modify CNC programs using Siemens, Mazak, and Heidenhain programming languages
- Prepare and update manufacturing methods, tooling details, setup instructions, and process documentation
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods using Lean Manufacturing principles
- Support daily manufacturing activities, resolving machining and process issues where required
- Provide ongoing support to machine shop operations to ensure efficient and high-quality production
- Manage manufacturing consumables including tooling and lubrication systems
- Assist with cost of poor quality KPI improvements
- Deliver training and technical support across manufacturing teams
HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position within a machining environment. Strong knowledge of CNC and manual machining processes, including milling and turning. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. CNC programming experience using Siemens, Mazak, and/or Heidenhain controls. Experience using SAP or other MRP systems. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Applicants must have valid Right to Work in the UK and be capable of obtaining Security Clearance for this role. This role will involve a combination of office-based and shop floor activities within a manufacturing environment. Occasional travel may be required.
