First Achieve Engineering Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing precision engineering company. Due to continued expansion, our client is looking to add an experienced Time Served Manual Turner to their skilled manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business producing high-quality precision components for a variety of sectors, including Aerospace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate manual turning machines.
  • Manufacture high-quality precision components to close tolerances.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings.
  • Carry out quality inspections and complete relevant documentation.
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment safely and accurately.
  • Work independently while contributing to a close-knit engineering team.

What We're Looking For

  • Time Served Engineer with a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Manual Turner.
  • Confident setting and operating manual turning machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Desirable: Experience in manual milling or toolmaking.

  • £19 Per Hour
  • £1,000 signing bonus (£500 after 6 months and £500 after 12 months)
  • 39-hour working week
  • Overtime available: Time and a half (weekdays), Double time (weekends)
  • 33 days annual leave

  • Standard hours are 39 per week Mon-Fri days with 1pm finish on the Friday
