CNC Maintenance Technician in Barnard Castle

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out preventive and reactive maintenance on CNC and manual machine tools.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and control system faults (motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, etc.).
• Supporting mechanical repairs (hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, etc.) when needed.
• Assisting with machine installations, testing, and commissioning.
• Keeping accurate service records and ensuring safety standards are met.
• Working closely with engineers and customers to deliver top‑quality service.

What We’re Looking For

• Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Maintenance Engineering.
• Experience with CNC control systems (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or similar).
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills on electrical systems.
• Comfortable with some mechanical work.
• A self‑starter who enjoys working independently or as part of a small team.
• Full UK driving licence (some travel to customer sites).
