First Achieve’s Engineering Department is currently recruiting for an exciting new opportunity, created to support the continued growth of the business.
As an HSEQ Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS). This includes reviewing, developing, and updating IMS procedures and project-specific HSEQ plans.
You will be responsible for monitoring and analysing HSEQ performance data, identifying trends, and producing accurate reports. The role also involves conducting and leading audits (internal, supplier, and third-party), carrying out risk assessments and HAZIDs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and enhancement of the HSEQ Integrated Management System
- Compile, review, and update IMS procedures and project HSEQ plans
- Monitor, analyse, and report on HSEQ performance and trends
- Conduct and lead internal, supplier, and third-party audits
- Carry out risk assessments and HAZID studies
- Act as a subject matter expert on HSEQ matters, providing guidance and support across the business
- Ensure accurate and timely recording and closure of non-conformities, hazards, incidents, and accidents
- Deliver HSEQ training to employees
- Identify and implement process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Key Objectives
- Protect the business and its reputation: Promote a strong HSEQ culture through effective communication, coaching, and engagement
- Demonstrate integrity: Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, adhering to all IMS requirements
- Meet customer needs: Actively contribute to client meetings and lead or support audit activities
- Deliver quality: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, as well as relevant legislation and best practices
- Drive innovation: Continuously seek improvements and embrace new ideas and ways of working
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety and/or Quality role
- NEBOSH Certificate (or currently working towards it)
- Experience with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) implementation
- Background in engineering, quality assurance, or quality control (apprenticeship or equivalent experience beneficial)
- Lead Auditor qualification in at least one ISO standard (9001, 14001, or 45001), with internal auditor certification for the others
- Professional membership (or working towards), such as Tech IOSH, CQI, or IEMA
