Are you an experienced Plant Fitter who enjoys variety in your work? We are looking for a skilled technician to join our team in Nairn, combining workshop-based repairs with on-site field service support across the region. You will play a vital role in keeping our fleet of plant hire equipment operating safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards - ensuring our customers can rely on every machine we provide.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on a range of plant hire machinery.
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and inspections in both workshop and field environments.
- Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and job reports.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, providing clear updates and technical insight.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Support a proactive maintenance culture, identifying issues before they become major problems.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (City & Guilds, NVQ, HND or equivalent).
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing plant machinery or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- A full UK driving licence and a strong commitment to Health & Safety.
