The predicted salary is between 15 - 20 £ per hour.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established marine engineering company for an experienced Industrial Painter to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of marine engineering projects, preparing and applying protective coatings to high-quality standards within a busy workshop and site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare steel surfaces through cleaning, masking, sanding, and abrasive preparation.
  • Apply industrial paint systems including primers, undercoats, and topcoats using spray, brush, and roller techniques.
  • Mix paints and coatings in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Carry out touch-up work and repairs where required.
  • Ensure coatings meet quality and thickness specifications.
  • Maintain painting equipment and keep work areas clean and safe.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Work closely with fabrication and engineering teams to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Industrial Painter, Marine Painter, or Protective Coatings Applicator.
  • Experience with airless and conventional spray painting.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and industrial coating systems.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and paint specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • ICATS, or similar industry certifications are advantageous but not essential.
