We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established marine engineering company for an experienced Industrial Painter to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of marine engineering projects, preparing and applying protective coatings to high-quality standards within a busy workshop and site environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare steel surfaces through cleaning, masking, sanding, and abrasive preparation.
- Apply industrial paint systems including primers, undercoats, and topcoats using spray, brush, and roller techniques.
- Mix paints and coatings in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Carry out touch-up work and repairs where required.
- Ensure coatings meet quality and thickness specifications.
- Maintain painting equipment and keep work areas clean and safe.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Work closely with fabrication and engineering teams to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Industrial Painter, Marine Painter, or Protective Coatings Applicator.
- Experience with airless and conventional spray painting.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and industrial coating systems.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and paint specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- ICATS, or similar industry certifications are advantageous but not essential.
