The Opportunity

First Achieve Engineering is working with a growing engineering business to recruit a Mechanical Service Engineer to join its expanding Service & Repair team. This is a varied role, split between customer sites and the workshop, working on a wide range of HVAC, commercial and industrial equipment. The role is predominantly focused on reactive breakdowns, servicing and repairs, offering plenty of variety and technical challenge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair a wide range of pumping equipment, including:
    • Submersible pumps
    • Centrifugal pumps
    • Progressive cavity pumps
    • Air-operated diaphragm pumps
    • Booster sets
    • Pump stations
  • Strip, inspect and assess pumps, electric motors and industrial fans.
  • Carry out mechanical fault finding, repairs and planned maintenance.
  • Install, set up and commission new equipment.
  • Undertake basic pipework modifications where required.
  • Complete site risk assessments and ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with current HSE legislation.
  • Produce accurate service reports and provide a high standard of customer service.

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, SVQ/NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Experience working as a Service, Maintenance or Field Engineer.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding experience on pumps, motors, fans or other rotating equipment.
  • Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, HVAC or building services environments.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills.
