Our London Branch is committed to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and privacy for our clients and customers. We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior Data Privacy Analyst to join our team in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding the privacy of our stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Responsibilities:
- Review new projects for Data Protection risks and assist with developing appropriate and pragmatic solutions to ensure risks are mitigated and privacy by design principles are incorporated, including supporting the completion of data protection impact assessments (where appropriate).
- Advise all business areas with day-to-day Data Protection queries across all business areas.
- Support the monitoring and maintenance of data privacy-related policies, procedures, and practices across the organization.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements relating to Data Protection, including outsourcing and data transfer agreements including standard contractual clauses.
- Support the Data Protection Officer in managing data subject rights requests.
- Participate in data breach incident response activities, including investigation, documentation, and reporting Assist the Data Protection Officer in managing local and global governance initiatives.
- Contribute to data privacy training and awareness programs for employees to promote a privacy-conscious culture.
- Maintaining and updating internal Data Protection compliance records and logs (e.g., Article 30 records of processing; data incident log).
- Keeping up to date with proposed and actual changes to UK laws, regulations and regulator guidance; assessing their impact and advising relevant teams.
- Keeping Data Protection team templates and guidance documents up to date.
- Monitor and manage Data Loss Prevention incidents and escalate appropriately.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Banking, Finance, Law or Humanities
- Experience in banking or similar sector preferred
- Experience advising on Data Protection in either a well-respected private practice or in-house environment
- Strong interest and experience in data privacy and digital technology
- Knowledge of MS Office pack, including Excel, Powerpoint
- Knowledge of VBA or other database development tools would be advantageous
- Knowledge of UK banking regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey data privacy concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Open-mindedness, ability to work in a team, autonomy, sense of organization
- Ability to multi-task as well as prioritize
