Van Driver Our client, a well-established logistics operation based in Newcastle, is currently seeking experienced van drivers to support their busy depot with deliveries. This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling, so applicants must be comfortable with physical work. Location: Washington, Newcastle NE37 Shift Pattern: Multiple different shift patterns 8am – 5/6pm Start Date: immediate The Role: Load and unload goods from the van securely Plan delivery routes efficiently (often using GPS or route software) Deliver parcels or goods to multiple locations (80-100) Obtain proof of delivery (signatures, photos, or electronic confirmation) Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, tyres, oil, cleanliness) Follow all road safety and traffic laws Handle customer queries professionally at delivery points Report delays, damages, or issues to the depot/manager Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork Requirements: Valid UK driving licence (Category B) Good knowledge of local roads and navigation systems Strong time management and organisational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Good communication and customer service skills Physically fit (lifting parcels, frequent stops) Previous delivery driving experience (preferred but not always essential) This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing, weekday work with a reputable client.
