Firmin Recruit are excited to be working with our long-established manufacturing client based in Camberwell, SE5 area. My client has been established for 49 years and is an established business growing from strength to strength. Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Officer/Manager to join their friendly team. Supplying a variety of customers, including manufacturing and retail, this established business always strives to be ahead of the curve.

Hours: 9 am - 5 pm Monday-Friday

Benefits: 23 days holiday + Bank Holiday, Pension, Gym Membership, etc.

This is an office-based role. My client is unable to offer parking, but the nearest tube station is Denmark Hill.

The Role: Your role will be to assist the Purchasing Manager through efficiently placing purchase orders and planning deliveries of raw materials to meet the needs of the company and its customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have effective working relationships with all internal stakeholders, e.g., production, warehouse, planning, and sales.
  • Finding the best possible prices and services with suppliers, whilst also trying to identify new ones.
  • Continually work to improve internal processes and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.

Suitable Candidate:

  • To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of two years’ experience within a purchasing role gained within a manufacturing environment.
  • You will have a proven track record in purchasing within the manufacturing industry and be proficient in using SAP for procurement processes. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using NetSuite.
  • Be able to demonstrate success in supplier relationships.
  • Have a good level of commercial and business acumen.
  • Possess good negotiating skills, attention to detail, and great organisational skills.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team or individually as required.
  • The ability to work unaided and as part of a team across multiple departments.
  • Suitable candidates must live within a one-hour commute of the SE5 area.
