Our client, a manufacturing company based in Orpington, who supply to mainly the pharmaceutical/medical market, is looking for a Shop Floor Mechanical /Assembly Technician to join their team. Our client is seeking someone with mechanical, assembly skills, who is physically fit as the successful candidate will be involved in the build/assembly of large medical equipment.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8 am to 5 pm & Friday 8 am to 1 pm. 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.

About the role:

  • Fabrications/assembly of steel framework through to the final stage of the build
  • Install electrical chassis and connect wiring looms
  • Installation of pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications
  • Read schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods
  • Previous mechanical assembly technician experience
  • Experience with brazing/soldering is an essential skill required for this role.

Previous experience:

  • Previous experience within an engineering environment
  • Must have good mechanical skills and have experience using associated tools
  • Experience with soldering and assembly of mechanical products
  • Must be able to read technical drawings
  • Some heavy lifting involved

  • Must be able to read technical drawings
  • Work well on your own and as part of a team.

Tools & equipment used:

  • Hand tools, Air tools, Braising, MIG, T.I.G welding. Pallet trolleys, Pillar drills, Bench grinders.
