Purpose of Role
The role is to be actively responsible for the recovery of monies across commercial property units and liaising with external parties.

The Role

  • Issuing automated arrears letters for the commercial management department on a regular basis
  • Proactively contacting commercial tenants with overdue accounts in line with credit control procedures
  • Review aged debtor reports with the Head of Accounts to discuss and identify concerning overdue debts
  • Escalate cases to the legal department for further action where necessary
  • Chasing of arrears by phone/email/post
  • Have an active involvement in liaising with solicitors, insolvency practitioners and Bailiffs
  • Reconciling account balances

General Duties

  • Dealing with telephone calls and general correspondence
  • General filing
  • Providing cover for team members
  • Ad-hoc duties as required

Suitable Candidate
The successful candidate will need to have a minimum of two years credit control or customer services experience, making outbound calls. They should possess:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Persistence and determination
  • Solid skills in Microsoft - Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Ability to work well in a team

Suitable candidates must live within a 45-minute commute of Gravesend.

Hours
9 am - 5.30 pm Monday - Friday

Benefits
Pension, Private Health Care (after one year of service), 22 days holiday + Bank holidays rising by one day per year to a maximum of 25 days, Learning and Development programme from day one, Life Insurance etc. After probation, my client will consider some remote working with a minimum of 3 days office based.

Parking
Town Centre workers permits are available from Gravesham Borough Council to receive a discount on parking, or the staff car park can be booked after 9 am the day before it is required - first come first served. Our client is based in Gravesend Town Centre and is a five-minute walk from the bus and train station.
