As a result of recent contract awards, we are looking to expand our team in 2026. We invite applicants to apply for a position to join our Mechanical Contracts Team within our Head Office where we provide total engineering support to our directly employed Mechanical and Electrical Installation Engineers, including:

  • Contract Management Teams
  • Design Department
  • Estimating Department
  • CAD / BIM Management Teams

At this time we are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Contracts Manager who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, a good team player but equally able to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate should be capable of demonstrating previous successful experience of managing Mechanical projects within the range of £(phone number removed) to £(phone number removed), and be able to work under their own initiative from receipt of initial design brief to completion of the design for implementation by our contract management and site operating teams.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience and trade qualifications representative of a Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services), educated to HND / HNC or degree level in Building Services Engineering. Excellent knowledge of Building Services Design and software packages would be essential, and a good understanding of Estimating, CAD & BIM, Revit packages would be an advantage. Some knowledge of a computer-based Estimation package, MS Project or Asta Powerproject, and a good working knowledge of Excel and Word would be an advantage. References will be required for this position.

Outline Brief of Requirements

  • Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications.
  • Design Mechanical Services Systems from Architects’ Drawings and / or Room Data Sheets:
    • Domestic Services Installation
    • Ventilation
    • Heating
    • Comfort Cooling
    • Air Conditioning
    • Public Health Installation
  • Design & Build experience is essential.
  • A good working knowledge of current regulations including HTM’s.
  • A good working knowledge of BMS & Control Systems.
  • Ability to carry out site visits and surveys.
  • Ability to meet Clients, Consultants and Professional Teams.
  • Ability to present the design to the Professional and Contract Management teams.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work to programme deadlines and timescales.
  • An appreciation of business demands.
  • Good documentation and presentation skills.
  • The willingness to undertake further design training as relevant to the position.

The Finer Details

The successful candidate would be primarily based in our Head Office working Monday to Friday, 09.00-17.30 hours. However, there will be times where you will be required to put in extra hours and travel to site for surveys, meetings etc. Ease of commute to our Head Office in Croydon, Surrey is a consideration as this will be the primary base, and the successful candidate would not be expected to have a commute of more than 45 minutes – 1 hour. The position affords opportunities for the successful candidate to progress within an enthusiastic Employee Owned Company.

The Employment Package

  • A starting salary between £60,000.00 & £75,000.00, subject to level of experience, with discretional performance related bonuses.
