Responsibilities:

  • The day-to-day management and coordination of all retro/refurbishment installation projects from £5K to £250K to BS.
  • Surveying sites and reporting anomalies to line management prior to contract commencement.
  • Direct accountability for profitability and quality on a job.
  • Performance management of all sub-contractors and engineers on site (Engineering & Health and Safety).
  • Direct Liaison with clients and client’s representatives.
  • Handover of completed projects including manuals and drawings.
  • Technical support to the sales team and small works coordinator.
  • Support/participation to the Quality Team.
  • Pre-contract meeting.
  • Pre-sales/post-sales support to other departments for pursuing new customers and retaining existing customers.
  • Support to credit control following application for payments.
  • Support Customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Deputise for Project Coordinator as and when required.
  • Day to day managing of projects.
  • Co-ordination of equipment and engineers.
  • Coordination with Project Coordinator on WIP.
  • Site Visits to check on projects and quality.
  • Site inspections to check on engineers H&S, quality of works and progress.
  • Preparing all projects for LPC inspection.
  • Carry out surveys for new systems.
  • Design new systems to assist the sales team from time to time.
  • Liaise with Sales regarding categories of systems and check design.
  • Assist sales with costings of projects.
  • Assist sales with Radio surveys to confirm propagation.
  • Prepare master sales costing sheet for projects.
  • Keep up to date work in WIP spreadsheets and monitoring tools.
  • Create project files for each contract.
  • Give technical assistance to all.
  • Manage Project P&L with the Project Coordinator.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Project management skills and site supervision experience.
  • Technical problem solving skills.
  • Document control, financial control and budgeting skills.
  • Extensive experience in the fire industry and thorough understanding of the British Standards.
  • Good understanding of the provision Method Statements.
  • Thorough knowledge on compliance with IS09002 procedures.
  • Proven excellent man management skills.

Area of Expertise:

  • BS5839-6:2013.
  • BS5266 17th Edition Regulations.
  • BS7671.
  • Fire Alarm Design, Installation and Commissioning.
  • Electrical safety legislation, regulations, standards & terminology.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical systems – fault finding.

Qualifications:

  • FIA Unit One to Seven.
  • City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 & 3.
  • City & Guilds 2382-10 levels 2 & 3.
