About the role
Firetech UK Ltd is a specialist passive fire protection contractor, established in 1994. We’re hiring a Senior Contracts Manager, a permanent senior position with a genuine opportunity to progress within a fast growing organisation. From July 2026, you’ll deputise for our Head of Operations during a 9-month period of military service, taking full operational responsibility for our Construction team. You’ll join the Senior Management Team during this period, reporting to the Managing Director with the full backing of our commercial, estimating and finance functions. When the Head of Operations returns, the role becomes permanent in one of two shapes – defined with you based on where you’ve added the most value: a Senior Contracts Manager position with elevated responsibility above our existing Contracts Managers, or a Head of role at peer level.
What you’ll do
- Lead delivery of our largest and most complex passive fire protection projects.
- Cover Head of Operations responsibilities for 9 months from July 2026.
- Manage and develop our team of Contracts Managers and Project Managers/Surveyors.
- Own day-to-day client relationships on key accounts.
- Drive QA, Golden Thread compliance and FIRAS standards across the team.
- Work alongside the Commercial Manager on margins, valuations and variations.
- Contribute to operational strategy and tender planning as a member of the Senior Management Team.
What we’re looking for
- Significant senior experience in passive fire protection (fire stopping, compartmentation, fire barriers and structural steel protection).
- Track record of running multiple live projects and managing programmes, labour and subcontractors.
- Experience leading or mentoring other Contracts Managers (formally or informally).
- Strong on FIRAS (or similar third-party accreditation) and Golden Thread compliance.
- Confident client-facing operator who builds trusted relationships.
- The capacity and ambition to step up to Head of level.
- SMSTS, NVQ Level 6, IFE Level 3 in PFP, FIRAS Supervisor, all welcome (or working towards).
- Full UK driving licence.
What we offer
- Annual bonus
- Company vehicle or car allowance
- 33 days holiday + option to buy or sell 5 more
- Early finish on Fridays
- Genuine progression within an ambitious, growing business
- Supportive team that takes pride in doing PFP properly
